Mini Storm Launcher - First Flight

I found 8 AA batteries, installed the antenna in the base, then put in the propeller guard and was ready to start flying.

First I tried taking off using the street in front of our house for an air strip.

After 4 pretty good crashes… 1. fence 2. trash can 3. car 4. drain in the curb

I decided that the plane was not going to fly on my street,
Which was actually a very good thing because next I took it to the park.

I found a large open space, around 35 yards and tried the method where you hold the plane and toss it then start flying.

The first 3 times it just flew mostly straight into the ground,

It went maybe 20 feet or so.

Then the 4th time I guess I threw it more into the wind or something because it took off and went up about 50 feet and then I tried to turn and it make a very large arc and flew into the top of a tree about 35 yards away.

It was about 25 feet off the ground and stuck very solidly in the branches of the tree.

I guess I figured out the hard way that it takes around 40 yards or more to make a turn with this plane.

The next day I got 3 10 foot lengths of pcv pipe that would fit inside each other, and I brought them back to the park and duct taped them together to make a pole long enough to get my plane out of the tree.

I then charged it up again and took it to a foot ball field, and tried another flight, after 2 or 3 times flying in the ground it took off again and this time flew into a smaller tree and I was able to climb up in the tree and shake it down.

To start out with you really need a couple of football fields with no trees to try and learn to fly this thing.
